TRAGIC BRYANSTON HOUSE FIRE FOR NEW TENANTS
(Tuesday 24 July, 9am) – A house in Landsdowne Rd in Bryanston tragically burnt down on Wednesday morning. Apparently the residents had only just moved in a week prior to the house fire. Thankfully there were no serious injuries to the family, but the resident’s cat unfortunately died in the fire. It is believed that the fire began in the kitchen and quickly spread throughout the house.
Residents have also been up in arms about the fact that a fire engine took 30 minutes to reach the fire. Reports indicate that the Sandton Fire Truck was in for repairs, the Elexandra Fire Truck was busy with another incident, and a Florida Fire Truck was dispatched to the Bryanston location.
The couple and their two children are staying with friends in the interim, while they assess a possible way forward. Social Media has been filled with offers of help from the community – we will keep you posted as to ways that you could help! Watch our Facebook page for details.
